Mid Ulster Council Launches 2025 Arts, Culture, and Community Awards to Recognise Local Contributions

The Council has announced the launch of the Arts, Culture, and Community Awards 2025, highlighting remarkable achievements in enriching community life throughout the Mid Ulster area. This initiative is designed to recognise individuals and groups whose creative efforts, dedication, and generosity have a meaningful impact on local communities.

Organised by the Council, the awards showcase the diversity of activities that support cultural life, social inclusion, and community engagement. Residents are encouraged to take part in celebrating these achievements by nominating people or projects that deserve acknowledgement.

Spotlight on Local Talent and Community Spirit

Supported by the Chair of the Council, Councillor Eugene McConnell, this event acknowledges the passion and contributions of artists, volunteers, and leaders whose work makes a positive difference in Mid Ulster. Highlighting the importance of these awards, Councillor McConnell said, “Mid Ulster is a place rich in talent, compassion, and community spirit, and the Arts, Culture, and Community Awards give us a unique opportunity to shine a spotlight on the incredible individuals and groups who make a real difference in the lives of others.”

The event will feature various categories dedicated to different areas of contribution, from arts and youth work to environmental protection and well-being. Through these awards, the Council aims to showcase the creativity and commitment that fuel community growth and bring residents together.

Nominations and Ceremony Details

Nominations are open until 12 noon on Friday, 21 February 2025. Anyone who wishes to put forward an individual or group can visit the Council’s official website to submit their nomination form online. The Council will celebrate the winners at an Awards Ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, 25 March 2025, at the Burnavon Arts Centre in Cookstown.

How to Get Involved

Complete the online form at www.midulstercouncil.org/awards to recognise those who make Mid Ulster vibrant and inclusive. Submissions must be received by noon on Friday, 21 February 2025. Shortlisted nominees will be invited to attend the ceremony on 25 March 2025, where the winners will be formally acknowledged.
