The Newry, Mourne and Down Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) is inviting residents to a free Safety and Wellbeing Event in Newry Leisure Centre. Organised in collaboration with Start 360, the event aims to offer guidance on health, safety, and support services to individuals and families within the district.
Held on Tuesday 4 March 2025 from 10am to 2pm, this community gathering will feature key workers in safety and wellbeing, as well as organisations from across Northern Ireland. All attendees will have the opportunity to learn about local resources, programmes, and practical ways to stay safe.
Event Highlights
The event will be held in the main hall at Newry Leisure Centre and will feature a mocktail bar and over 20 exhibitor stands. At 11am, the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service will perform a road safety demonstration, showing how they respond to vehicles and passengers involved in road traffic collisions.
Chair of Newry, Mourne and Down PCSP, Councillor Terry Andrews, said, “Throughout a time of collective challenges, we as a PCSP feel it is important that residents of Newry, Mourne and Down know what local support is available for them and how they can access these resources to improve their wellbeing and keep themselves safe. We invite those of all ages to attend this free drop-in event where we will have key workers in the safety and wellbeing field there on the day to provide help and offer some friendly advice.”
Resources and Support
Exhibitors will include groups offering information on drugs and alcohol, mental health, and other areas of social and community support. Visitors will be able to speak directly with providers to learn about the services and funding options available in the district.
Encouraging Community Involvement
Newry, Mourne and Down PCSP encourages residents to drop in any time between 10am and 2pm to explore the stands and speak with local service professionals. Anyone seeking more information or who has enquiries can contact the PCSP at [email protected].
